LOCATION

Agro-Tech Organisation Society Uganda is found in Nabbaale sub-county in Mukono District. Nabbaale sub-county is situated in Nakifuma county in Mukono District,in the North it borders with Kyampisi sub-county.It also shares its borders with Kimenyedde sub-county in the East and Luwero political District in the West where Mukono and Luwero are separated by Lwajali stream.It is found in a distance of 20 kms from Mukono District headquarters on Kayunga road.



HISTORICAL BACKGROUND

Agro-Tech Organisation Society Uganda (ATOS) is a non-Govervenmental Organisation which was initiated by the residents of Bamusuta parish. It is an S.D.A church based institution.

STATUS OF THE ORGANISATION
It is a Community Based Organisation (CBO) registered with ministry of gender,labor and social development in Mukono District.

FORMATION OF THE ORGANISATION:
  The idea formation of the Organization begun March 2006 between groups and individuals on village level and institutions. The official formation of the Organisation resulted into processing of the Organization certificate and this was done on 27th April 2007.

LEGAL STATUS
  The Agro-Tech Organisation Society is a non-Government Organisation. It will operate country wide but it has started with apilot project in Mukono District. The office is situated in Mukono District with area office in Districts of operation.

MISSION STATEMENT
  Improve the Socio-Economic Standards of the Community.

OBJECTIVES

  1. To promote equal access to education and employment opportunities among the youth,orphans and disabled especially in the rural areas.


  2. To promote Information Technology (IT) in rural primary and secondary schools as well as farmers.


  3. Promote the saving culture and train rural population in personal development aspect.


  4. To promote volunteer spirit among youths as a means of initiating jobs.


  5. Conduct programs offering counseling,guidence of people who have contracted HIV/AIDS disease.


  6. Develop and document micro-level information for utilization in project formation.


  7. Promote programs aimed at reducing HIV/AIDS and STDs and other chronic health disorders among the youth.


  8. Provide educational assistance to children especially those who have lost their parents due to HIV/AIDS disease (orphans).


  9. Establish Information Technology Centres (ICT).


  10. Introduce new farming systems through establishment of demostration gardens in people's homes.


  11. Work hand in hand with other organisations to support women and child headed families in promoting their rights as is enshrined in national and international instruments and empowering them for self sustenance.


  12. And do any other programs which can improve the economic,social standards of the community.
